Shops serving Pueblo

Pueblo knows water better than most Colorado cities. The June 1921 flood, when cloudbursts sent the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek over their banks at once, is still the worst disaster in the city's history, and the river was moved and leveed afterward. Most water damage today is smaller and closer to home: a supply line that splits in a January freeze, a water heater that lets go, a roof that leaks in a summer storm. This page lists shops that publish water damage work and a phone for Pueblo. We are a directory. We do not extract water. Confirm hours, IICRC cards, and insurance paperwork with the shop before you sign.

What to check before you hire

Who is actually local

Several shops that cover Pueblo are based in Colorado Springs, Colorado City, or farther away. The list marks shops based outside Pueblo. Ask where the crew is coming from and how long it will take tonight.

Water and drying cards

Ask for IICRC WRT (water restoration) and ASD (applied structural drying) on the crew, and a moisture map of what is wet. Daily readings are how you know when drying is done.

Clean water versus sewage

A supply line or water heater is usually clean water. A floor drain or toilet backup from the sewer line is Category 3 and changes what has to be thrown out. Ask how the shop classified your loss and get it in writing.

Insurance and the work order

Ask whether the shop bills your insurer directly, what they need from you on day one, and what you are signing. Read any assignment of benefits before you sign it.

Cost bands, not quotes

These are published industry ranges, labeled as estimates. A shop has to see the loss before anyone can price your house.

Extraction and drying

Mitigation (pumping out water, removing what cannot be saved, and running drying equipment) is priced by the size and category of the loss. A shop has to see it to price it.

Rebuild

New drywall, flooring, and paint come after drying and are a separate scope. Some shops rebuild; some do not. Ask before work starts.

Pueblo questions

Do Pueblo shops really answer at night?

Every shop on this page lists 24/7 emergency service on its own site. Call and ask for an arrival time, especially if the shop is based outside Pueblo.

Does insurance cover a burst pipe in Pueblo?

Sudden, accidental pipe bursts are usually covered by homeowners insurance; rising flood water is not without a separate flood policy. Your policy wording controls. See the frozen pipes guide for what to document.

Is the Arkansas River still a flood risk?

After the 1921 flood the river was moved and leveed, and Pueblo Dam was later built upstream. Check FEMA flood maps for your address if you are near the river or Fountain Creek; flood damage needs flood insurance.
