Pueblo mold remediation shops

Dry air outside, wet walls inside. If a leak sat, ask for containment and a clearance test, not a spray.

Talk to a listed mold shop

Shops serving Pueblo

Pueblo's dry climate does not protect a wall, crawlspace, or attic that stays wet. Mold in local homes usually traces back to a leak nobody caught: a supply line inside a wall, a water heater, a roof leak after a storm, or moisture from an evaporative cooler. The EPA's rule of thumb applies here as anywhere: dry wet materials within 24 to 48 hours and mold usually will not grow. This page lists shops that publicly offer mold remediation for Pueblo. It is not medical advice and not a lab. Ask who writes the removal plan, what containment looks like, and who checks the work afterward.

What to check before you hire

Find the water first

Removal without fixing the leak comes back. Ask the shop to name the moisture source in writing and say who will fix it.

Containment, not a fog

For anything bigger than a small patch, expect plastic barriers, negative air, and bagged debris. A scented spray or a coat of paint over growth is not remediation.

IICRC AMRT

Ask whether the crew holds Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) credentials. The list shows AMRT where a shop publishes it.

Independent clearance

Have someone who did not sell the removal check the area before walls are closed. Agree on who pays if it fails.

Cost bands, not quotes

These are published industry ranges, labeled as estimates. A shop has to see the loss before anyone can price your house.

Inspection

HomeAdvisor's national data puts a professional mold inspection at about $300 to $1,075, averaging around $690. Lab samples can add to that.

Removal

Fixr's national guide puts remediation at about $10 to $30 per square foot of affected material. Use the cost calculator for a range for your job.

Pueblo questions

Can I clean mold myself in Pueblo?

The EPA says areas under about 10 square feet are often a homeowner job with gloves, eye protection, and a respirator, once the moisture is fixed. Larger areas, growth in walls, or sewage-related water call for a professional.

Does Colorado license mold remediators?

Colorado does not run a statewide mold contractor license. That makes IICRC credentials, written containment, and independent clearance more important. Confirm current local rules with the shop.

I rent in Pueblo and found mold. What now?

Photograph it and report it to your landlord in writing. Colorado's 2019 tenant health and safety law added mold associated with dampness to the conditions that can make a rental uninhabitable. See the guide on mold in an apartment.
